Get pre-Qualified

The first step in getting a Texas Vet or VA Mortgage is to get pre-qualified for a home purchase or refinance using your Veterans Affairs benefit. We’ll be able to tell you what price home you are pre-qualified for and issue you a Veteran Mortgage pre-approval letter. Find a home to buy

Once you have been pre-qualified you for a Texas Vet or VA Mortgage, the next step is to find a house to buy (skip this step if refinancing). Make sure you let your realtor know you’ve been pre-qualified and that Veteran mortgages allow for seller paid closing costs up to 4% and an unlimited amount towards pre-paid items for escrow items like taxes and insurance.

Once you have found a home to buy, we’ll need you to complete the formal application. You can begin this process with our secure online application found at this link. We’ll need a copy of the purchase contract and we’ll also prepare all of the required disclosures for you to sign. We’ll also provide you with a list of personal documents that will be required for final loan approval.

Close on your New home

Once we receive your formal application and documents, we will process and underwrite your Texas Vet or VA mortgage, including ordering an appraisal. Once we have a loan approval, you will go to the closing where the final loan documents are signed and the purchase transaction along with transfer of ownership is completed.
